i messed up my ms25drive can someone please help me

i just go all the stuff to flash my xbox 360..i flashed my friends xbox with no problem..it was a ms28 drive..after i did his i flashed mine with his flash.but mine is a ms25...on his i did dsam ******* ***** first then fsam******* *****..when his worked fine with backed up games i thought it would do the same for me,so i hooked my drive up to the compuer and typed in fsam ******* *****...... now my drive dos not play games and the computer thinks its a ms28 drive not a ms25 drive...someone please help..

ya...i thought it would not make a difference..the computer still sees the drive tho..but as a ms28 not a ms25..is there anything i can do?

dustin you can try to look at the key on your box, but most likely if you flashed your box with his key, you just bricked your drive. and if thats why you want to replace a drive as stated in your other threads you are sol. you cant extract a key if it isnt there. i have never done a drive swap, so someone else might be able to answer the question of if you can swap out your pcb board or something. but unfourtantly my friend i think you are sol. hopefully someone else can give you better news than i can.

you mean how do you edit a post? look to the far right where your name is on the post, you should see an icon or two, one looks like a pencil and a peice of paper. click that.

that sucks..so i cant do anything with this drive now..do i need to buy a new 360 all together?
is there any web site out there with firmware for the ms25 that might work or worth trying?if its already messed up i have nothing to lose

you could send it to a trusted member of this site and hope they could repair it. you might get lucky, if you go any further, you are most likely going to be having to purchase a new 360.

so my drive would work on my friends xbox then...because i flashed his and it works then flashed mine with the same firmware..i wonder if i can just give him the drive now for a back up

well you could look into a modchip ... instead of just buying a whole new xbox... i forget what they are called infectus or something like that...
i have no experience with them and not many people on here seem to ... its much more traditional to flash the DVD drive than use a modchip...

The Infectus will only work on a 360 with a working drive. Plus, MS changed the board design so if your console is from July '07 on, the Infectus will not work.
Now, if your console had the ms25, your console should be old enough. But, like I said, you need a working dvd drive so you can boot the exploited KK disc. Plus, this process is far from easy.
With the time and money you'd need to spend getting your console up and running, I'd say you'd be better off selling it for parts.

my 360 still works..i still can watch movies for the computer and play arcade games with the xbox just not play disk games..the pci to sata card in my computer still sees the drive when i hook it up.the drive still reads dvds and open and closes..it is a ms25 drive..the xbox 360 is from 2005..its a old one..i just flashed it with a ms28 flash...it thinks its a ms28 when i hook it up to my computer....is there any way out there to fix it?
