Whilst the scene advance is excellent there really isn't any good resume for avi's. Sure if you press stop once it will resume when you press play. But only for one file and if you do something else or turn off it doesn't save that.

My iPod Touch and my WD TV both have unlimited avi resumes. So you can half watch several movies and start from exactly where you left off. Instead of boring updates like the Photo album this would be a really useful feature. IMHO of course.

I dont see the point of that. Sure it's good for when you are watching one movie, but resumes for serveral?! That's just stupid imo. First of all why would you be watching several things at once? Surely most people would prefer to finish one thing before moving onto the next.

Not really. My wife has her shows and I have mine. I may have half watched one of mine, another we are watching together and a third she may be half way through. I might get bored with one for awhile and try another. etc etc etc. See where I'm going with this?

I don't see why you're getting this problem; I've got several .avi movies on my PS3, and they're all stopped partway through, and I can always continue from where I left off on any of them.

That IS a strange problem to have. Maybe there are some Video Settings you can configure.

Or could it be that you're skipping (L1 and R1) from one movie to the next? If I'm right, this erases the "bookmark" of the next film... I think.

Hmm Have to check that. But I did check video settings but with no luck. I have been just running them from a thumb drive plugged into the side so maybe that's it? My internal is 160gb so might try putting a few on there and experimenting with them.

OK you were right. They resume fine if on the internal drive but not from a thumbdrive.

Oh, you know, that makes so much sense I should've realized that before.

Of course the PS3 wouldn't resume from a thumb drive versus the internal drive. Duh me.

Well, sorry. I should've noted that already. But still, glad I helped you a bit.
