Looks like a Capacitor problem so you will need to have a look inside at the C11 cap, check this thread and have a look at the image to identify. >>>>>>>>>
thanks alot for the reply i managed to re flash the box turn it on and jus come on for a few minutes and resets itself. keeps doing that i don't want to open it up that dogey i'm jus gonna get a starview 4 see how that goes
Well if you are going to give up on it then it is well worth having a look inside (remove from the power first obviously) - then you will be able to identify whether the Cap is bulged or leaking, if it is then it can be fixed, you could do a bit of learning/practice on it.
well i jus had a look at it opened the box and found it wasen't leaking i did however find that c21? cap was brown meaning it might have burnt out due to a powersurge i think i'm no expert in soldering an circuirt boards
Well if you can't do it maybe one of your friends might be able to help out, you can get the caps in Maplins, well worth a try, but it is the C11 cap that is usually the problem (might look alright to the naked eye), not the 21.
Well whatever you decide - good luck with it anyway, and your welcome. But if you do decide to get another box then think about the Eurovox EX 1000, nice looking slimline box, user friendly with plenty of support available, and to be honest I can't recommend the SV4 at the minute, seems a fair amount of niggles, but that is only my opinion.
