first,did a search and got nothing.
second i replaced my 60gb hdd with a new 500gb 5400rpm seagate. now when i turn my ps3 on from stand by i get "Can't start - correct hard disk not found". when i turn it off on then turn it off from the back and restart it works fine no message. i know the hdd is good and i know the ps3 does not have a size cap. does anyone know what is up and how to take care of this? i know others have this same problem.

Did you format the hard drive? Y'know, simple question, but that might just be it...

And is it connected well? Like, secure connections an' all that good stuff?

forgot about this one. yes i formatted it and it is in right. it is now in its second ps3 and have the same problem. sony says they no nothing of this. i think it maybe the hdd is slow at start up. some times it starts up right away others i have to turn it off and on a few times to get it to start. once it starts i have no problems. i did find that it helps if i leave a game sticking out of it so when i turn it on it goes into the ps3, that it has a better chance of starting on the first try.

Have you done a scan of the drive using a PC? Sounds like it might just be a defective drive.

Possible, Seagate's specialty is 3.5" drives...their laptop hard drives leave much to be desired.
