Please help

Every time I try to get connected to the Internet. I keep getting the message: A DNS error has occures. (8041040F)

If you have linksys i had the same problem, call them and they will guide you.Your internet service or linksys company

this can be caused by serveral things and since you havent gave any info on what brand/model/channel/security your router is i'll just give you some pointers.

first Check your settings in the computer by going to Start>Run>CMD then type ipconfig/all.
find your default gateway (like http://192.168.0.1) and type that into your internet browser, it should bring you to your router settings sometimes a default password of "admin" is needed

if you have mac filtering on either disable it or add your psp's mac address.

also make sure you router broadcast on channel 1 and is set to either send just "B" signals or "mixed"

if you are using wpa or wep you need to right down what the Key 1 is to type into your psp

Hey do you have vista? my dad called internet service and was able to install linksys wireless router.We had XP then got a new computer so the service had to get on vista or something...just call though
