Is the Asus Crosshair 2 MB a good gaming board?

What is the onboard 8 GPU equal too (EG. 8300, 8800?)

The Crosshair 2 uses an nforce chipset, which are known to be unreliable. If you have an AMD processor and want a good board I'd recommend a Gigabyte MA790GX-DS4H. If you haven't built a system yet though, you'd be better off building an Intel for gaming purposes.
The best nvidia integrated graphics chip right now is roughly equivalent to the Geforce 6200.

ok well on the intel side how about a striker 2 formula, is this a good gaming board that can be carried into the future for reliability and upgrading?

The Striker II is much worse. Possibly the worst motherboard ever made.
Again, I refer you to the MA790GX-DS4H for AMD, or for Intel, either a Rampage Formula or Gigabyte X48-DS4.

these both offer x fire at full x16 support? the x48-ds4 is intel? the other board you suggest is better (MA790GX-DS4H) and you say they come in a rampage formula? just doing some research on them they look like solid boards

Sorry, I don't understand that sentence.
Both boards allow Crossfire with dual 16x graphics.
The X48-DS4 and Rampage Formula are Intel boards. The MA790GX-DS4H is AMD.

Sorry GP yes, I think 790GX is the chipset name.
