i'm not sure about the hole on your tv for "pc-in"..does it look like a headphone jack or an s-video connection?..i would prolly go with the dvi to hdmi if i had to pic one..i happened to have a vga cable laying around, so i just used it..but i'm guess the digital signal is definitely going to be a higher quality than the analog signal..

It looks like a headphone jack and right below the vga.
The digital signal doesn't have to be better than the analog 1 from some threads I've read. They say that vga can output higher resolutions than hdmi and than dvi to hdmi will result in dvi quality if I understood them correctly.

VGA vs HDMI for an Anime video is not going to really matter for the most part (especially if the avi is compressed or lossy vs lossless). Basically they will look just about identical but if you want the best then DVI would be the correct one, but it's also just a matter of what is easier for you as well.

Thx mate, but I think my laptop's gone for good. See, it got busted before, cause I used it too much-because my pc was busted before that
XD(yeah, let's say I'm not the luckiest person alive xd)- and it had it's ram and motherboeard broken. Shortly after I replaced the parts ot got busted again, cause of shitty replacements I'm afraid, althogh I haven't gotten it to tech support yet. You see I took it to tech support the 1st time, just as the waranty ended and since this is Greece over here, it's only natural to assume it got replaced with the shittiest of parts. I haven't even used it much since I got it again, I didn't think it would make it this far even! Heck, I wouldn't be surprized if I saw a credit card and some gum in the motherboard's and ram's place if I opened it up!
But I digress. I don't want to use this setup only for watching anime, but that is the main reason I want to do it. Once I do it however, I think it would be cool to use the tv as a computer screen.
It's equally easy for me, each way that is. But in the thread I mentioned in previous post that I'd open, some1 says that dvi to hdmi may be better as well.
Btw, my opening this new thread is not consider multithreading, is it? I'd hate to close it, it's a work of art. I mean seriously, I started with a movie preview and my 2nd post was a poem XD

It could be multiposting but if it's clearly a separate issue then you could post it. BUT your question did derive from this thread on this topic so...I dunno. I could close this thread and let you open a new one but I don't think it would be a big deal if you just posted your question.

I've already opened a new 1, so do what you think is best. It's on another forum category though, so even though it derived from this thread, it's not about ps3 anymore. One could say that this thread got off topic long ago, so maybe it's for the best, the new thread that is. But then again, idk the rules THAT well, u see the new thread and tell me what needs to be done. If 1 had to be deleted though, I'd prefer it be the new 1, as more info are in here concerning the subject, even though the new 1 is in a more relevant category. Btw, my laptop got well again, lol
