I have an old fat psp with a broken disk drive. I have seen people playing the ps1 game final fantasy 7 and i want to downgrade my psp to be able to do the same. My firmware is version 3.95. Will I be able to downgrade this psp and play this game or is the firmware to high? If you could please send a link to a guide that tells how to.

You'll need a Pandora Battery and a Magic Memory Stick.
With this combination you can get Custom Firmware on your psp.

CFW = playing ISOs of psp games or playing EBOOTS of psx games.

To play psx games you better install Popsloader after you installed the CFW.

Bur first things first : get a Pandora and a MMS.

Ok thanks for the fast reply. In your opinion would it be better to buy a pandora battery tool from datel or get a device that changes my regular battery into a Pandora one? (like this one -- http://www.renchi.com/renchi/PSP_PSP_Sli...Tool_Datel.htm)

if you have the time and want to learn the skills you can make a magic memorystick for free with psp pandora deluxe and you can make the pandora for free by cutting pin5 of one of your phat batterys, you can find some guides for that on youtube.com

Now if i were to cut pin 5 on my regular battery it would make it a pandora battery, but will i still be able to use the battery as a regular battery once im done using it as a pandora battery?

yes if you inject IPL onto your memory sticks you can use it as a normal battery, i use psp pandora deluxe 3.1 to do this
