Greets all! I haven't posted in ages because of school and a lack of time to play with my Wii. It is modded with a wasabi chip. It's currently running 3.2u. I'm considering updating but I have a number of WADs I rather enjoy and would prefer not to lose access to. Is it possible to update to 3.4 and still install WADs? I never installed 3.3 because the word was that it killed the ability to install WADs. Has this changed?

I've seen some processes for installing custom IOS's, downgraders, etc, but my eyes are kind of glazing over. What is necessary and what isn't?

You can keep access to wad installation and nearly all homebrew on firmware 3.4 by installing IOS16. The file is copyrighted by nintendo so unfortunately I cant give you a direct link to it. But you can find it pretty easily searching on google.

The custom IOS's are only necessary for a few homebrew programs, like the backup loader. And the downgrader is completely unnecessary.
