I had a grand idea that might work.

I wanted to access my xbox dvd drive without opening it up all the time. So i thought maybe a y-split sata cable would work. One lead into the mother board of the xbox and the other into a small square that was cut in my xbox so as for easy access.

Would this work i wonder. So i dont have to go and buy a dvd drive to read the discs and so i dont have to open my xbox all the time. Whenever i want to read an xbox disc all i have to do is plug a sata lead from the small hole is my xbox to my pc.

i would imagine that the globe 360 or whatever it is, is just an overpriced split sata cable.

yea same way with the blaster i would think also. only thing im not sure about is when you use the 360's drive to copy the games, what normally powers it? is it still the console, or is it usually the PC? because that would be my main concern. especially since a ways back there was speculation that the console records how many times it was powered on with the dvd drive unattached and that could have contributed towards bannings. not sure how that theory played out though.

but the power issue would be my only concern, other wise i think it would work, as i have seen pictures of people on here using a split sata cable and having it come out of the back of the console so they didnt have to open it when they wanted to reflash it (used with we were on old xteme FW, when new stuff came out almost every month).

This has been done for a long time. There's tut's over on X-S if you need help.
