If you can't borrow or rent Zelda, then you have to chip your console... it's that simple.

Yes, you would have to buy a mod chip.

Just curious, why can't you rent zelda?

chipping your wii is considerably harder. I suggest that you get your hands on a twilight game if you already have everything. You have to pay about 30-50 dollars for a chip anyway, and then take your wii apart, which scares some people.

You dont need to solder anymore though. 'Back in the day' so to speak, I was installing wiikeys and cyclowiiz chips with my little 8 dollar soldering iron and preying that the console I was opening didnt have cut pins.

Kids today are spoiled with their solderless wiiclips and drivekeys. And their backup loaders that dont even need so much as a screwdriver.

"Back in the good ol' days eh!"

I for one love wiikeys. They are just so cool and I love quicksolder method. Pesky D2C and its wired only installs.

Yes those wii-clips sure are great! They really are the best invention ever...although D2E epoxy is bringing you whipper snappers back into shape.

I'm so happy nintendo started putting epoxy on their drives. Now all us modders have work again. Those wii-clips were on the verge of putting us out of business!

I blame the schools.

The schools aren't teaching our kids how to solder and now we are going to have an entire generation of wii-clip pipsqueaks!

Ah yes the good ol' days. Now people are spoiled with all of these softmods. Some even think they are badass or "1337" for hacking the Wii just using a softmod lol.

I mean come on. Just because you can install some software makes you bad ass. I mean I was so like whatever to my friend because he was like yah you can mod wiis but I am like an expert with psp firmware. I am pretty sure modchipping wiis is much more 1337 than installing custom firmware.

And you know what else pisses me off. When people buy presoldered wii-clips on the net and than "install" them for people. I mean come on you call that work. Any idiot can open a wii and put a wii-clip on. And than they call themselves modder.

Modding hierarchy

-Softmod
-Wii-Clips
-Quicksoldering WiiKeys
-Soldering Current Gen Modchips (eg. 6 wire D2Suns and Wiikeys)
-Removing Epoxy off D2E drives
-Installing D2Ckeys

/endrant

I must say nintendo really did a great thing when they started adding epoxy to their drives. Now no matter how modchips progress a modder will always be needed because normal people aren't gonna be able to do it.

So now modchip progress is just gonna make life easier for us modchippers but will keep the work in the modders hands!!!

Yay nintendo is making modding fun again. I was going to give up modding until nintendo did this.

No, you can't use another game, that's why it's called the "Twilight Hack." If your Wii is chipped, you can use a copy of the game, if it's not then you have to use a retail copy of the game that matches your Wii's region. Just go rent it...

@aceofspad

Unfortunately some modchip makers already ruined it again. The drivekey chip connects to the ribbon cable between the wii and the drive. No soldering, no removing epoxy, and compatible even with the D2nothing drives.

But 70 bucks is a heck of a lot for a modchip. And yes the drivekey does hurt a lot! But the drivekey is extremely buggy and not updateable so its not too bad....but their will probably be more advanced drivekeys with more powerful processors soon.

But either way epoxy is a big help although the advent of drivekeys and wiifriis is going to greatly hurt modding.

If it's pothsprojects or whatever then I'd advise you thieving plagiarists to get out.

Plagiarists? If this is true, just point it out and I will make sure it gets fixed right away.

Supposedly one of your members linked to a thread on your site where it copy and pasted my tutorial on how to burn 360 games.

Iceman has been banned here from AD for advertising your site with its plagiarism. He has been going through the forums and trying to find tutorials to copy and paste.

Evidence here-

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/729303#4511637

I can't see the link he posted in there since now you have to log in. I will not join a site that plagiarizes. At least give credit where credit is due.

You're not sorry at all, you're just (back) here to pimp your own site.
