Can I try and seek some clarification?

If i want to update from 4.51 to 4.57 firmware, do I need to try an intermittent firmware first? like 4.54? and would I need the logo file with 4.54 and 4.57? I have looked at other threads and there seems to be a difference of opinion. Is the GM loader 4.03 the one to use for 4.54 and 4.57? I have an original S***view 2 "The Box" and am UK based.

As always all advice appr4eciated.

Nope you can go direct to 4.57 using Gtromloader 4.03. It was one of the reasons why it was released.
