I am currently trying to install homebrew channel on my wii, but 3.4e is installed and wont play zelda. Is nintendo latest update stopping me from loading zelda, if so is there any other way of installing the home brew channel. I can install a wiikey if needed to, from a friend but still want homebrew.

3.4 shouldnt effect you playing zelda at all. It will keep you from copying the twilight hack to the wii's internal memory if you're using the wrong version, but other than that it shouldnt do anything. What problem are you having exactly? Is the disk not reading?

And theres no way besides the twilight hack to install HBC on a 3.4 wii, even with a modchip.

The only thing I can think of is that theres something wrong with the game disks. These are PAL region games, and not scratched or smudged, right?

Either way though, if you can get a backup of zelda playing with a modchip installed you can do the twilight hack that way. But I dont know what the problem with original disks is.

I am using beta 2 version it copies over to wii from sd card ok , but when i replay the game it says i need to save game before playing so it isn't picking up the hack. is there a new or different version i need.

You need to play the game far enough to save, then delete the save file and copy over the twilight hack.

And since you're on 3.4 if you turn off or reset the console the hacked save file will vanish. You need to use the back button to return to the main menu after copying it over and immediately run zelda. Returning to the main menu via the home button will erase the hack.
