So i recently got myself a ps3 and wanted to copy a bluray rip(x264) to the hd.
Trouble is i read the hd is formatted to fat32 and cannot copy files larger than 4 gig.

This movie i downloaded is in 1080p and is about 5 gig.
Wot i wanna know is ...is it possible to split the movie in two like most xvids which come in two 700meg sizes.
This way the files would be under the 4gig(part1 & part2)
Is this possible and if so which software could this?
Any ideas anyone pleeeese???

If you're copying it to the PS3's hard drive, you can mux it to .m2ts and there won't be any filesize limit. If you're copying it to an external drive, though (USB, SD, hard drive, etc.), you'll have to split it like you're saying.

You can easily do this with tsMuxer. This'll also let you split it into separate chunks, as well.

No, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes for muxing. You're not actually converting the video or anything; what you're doing is just taking the video and audio and putting it into a different type of container.

Sorta like taking something (video and audio) from a cardboard box and putting it into a metal box. The video and audio are the same, but the boxes are different, that's all.

Converting would be taking the stuff inside the box and molding it into a different shape, so to speak.
