If you play backups online does it increase your chance of being banned from xbox live? I play originals online but i havent played any backups online and diconnect the online cable whenever i play backups.
My guess is that what you are doing diminishes the chances that will get banned from LIVE, but remember, microsoft can still tell if you are using a modded console and if you have played back up games offline.
I don't think it makes a difference if you play a badly ripped backup offline or online as the console (I think) still sends the checksums of each disc played on it, to Microsoft. And this is all just speculation as no one can confirm or deny this "theory" at this point, but once Microsoft gets this checksum, they are able to tell if your console has been modded or not, if they find out that it has been, then it gets flagged, and once they get a whole lot of consoles flagged, then they all get banned at once.
You have to make sure that before running a backup, make sure that it checks out on XDVDMulleter, Xbox Backup Creator and Schtrom (at least two of these programs should "PASS" your image).
Make sure your image is not of a review copy, in other words, make your own backups, don't download it off of the web.
If anyone thinks I got it wrong, please correct me!
i check the backups on the dvdmulletor before i play and they are all good. In that case if i played them online will it increase my chances of being banned or i have the same chance either way online or offline.

DVDmulleter is not supported anymore. the guy that made it passed away. if u checked anything with mullets u need to recheck with ABGX cause i had a lot of games that passed mulleter but failed abgx and did need autofix. i had to make new iso of all my backups and do autofix and then reburn a lot of stuff i had gotten back in sept-dec.
the answer is mod at your own risk. It is not 100% known for sure if those precations will help or not. some ppl say it will some say it wont so u just have to decide for yourself if u want to go thru the trouble of disconnecting everytime you play a backup or not.
best practice is always check with abgx, if u have something that has failed then try to make an iso of it with imgburn and check the iso with abgx which will also create a .dvd file for the iso and it should autofix if needed and just reburn.
