On 5v it's quiet. On 12v it's louder than the stock fan. But I tell you what... it's well worth the sound. Just turn your volume up a tad. You can play your console all day and the rear exhaust is still room temp on 12v. You hold your hand on the side of the console and you can feel the air being sucked in to the 360.

Someone told me running it on 12v can get me banned? Also does the 5v set up blow as much as stock but with less sound right?

I'm not sure how Microsoft would detect the different power levels of your fan. They care more about banning people for running modified firmware, not whether you run your fan at 5v or 12v.

The Whisper Max running on regular mode (5v) is quiet. On turbo mode 12v) it's louder, but it really is worth it. It really does keep the 360 a lot cooler.

Running this fan on 12v doesn't get a console banned. People use to modify their stock fan, and it was rumored that the way they did it was detectable by MS.
