I thought so. Just seemed hard to believe. I know everyone was crazy for those Pioneer drives a few years ago but you can't find them easily anymore.

Thanks.

Hmm....this is the same answer given to everyone who wants to know which burner is recommended, but I don't agree with this.

If you are burning Verbatim DVD+R DLs, it won't matter which burner you have, but if you want to burn Memorex (aka Ritek (note: some FujiFilms DVD+R DLs show "Ritek" in their disc id as well)) cheap DVD+R DLs, then there are only a few burners that can burn those discs properly, and if it is burnt properly, only then the xbox can read it without any problem, if it is not burnt properly thats when you will get the "Clean the disc" error on your console. I have a whole collection of Memorex burnt games that work perfectly!

You could just do that, it really depends on how many games you want to burn, if it is in the 200 - 300 range, then you might end up saving a little by using cheap DVD (that are burnt properly!) else verbatims are the way to go :)

wow burning 200-300 games would take a VERY long time. it takes me about 35-45 mins to burn a game so i could only imagine. and the only reason i can think of someone burning that many at once would be for distribution o_0

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

200-300 would be a lot i spose but not so if the collection was bought over 3-4 years, that would just be an average size collection in my book,my 360 collection only numbers about 20 bought but my xbox & PS2 bought games number well above 300 combined as you say tho it's takes bloody ages to back em up even if using dvd2xbox

yes but i cant ever imagine someone with 200-300 images backedup deciding they need to or want to burn all of them at once for any reason, i mean if the hdd they were on was going to explode after a timer stops sticking lol then maybe i would feel the need to burn 200-300 discs at once. if burned over time then yea thats totally possible...but then again time is infinite...man i need to stop getting stoned and reading the boards

Buying a burner for putting together a collection of 200 - 300 discs over 3-4 years is what I meant, I don't know why you want to burn all of these discs at one?!?

I know HL-DT-ST-GSA-H42N works flawlessly with Memorex DVD DLs and I have also heard that Sony/NEC Optriarc 7170, Samsung SH-S182M, and Pioneer DVR-116D work as well.

I have a lite-on and I can say it will not work with memorex DL. but works fine with verbs and sony.

Bolt1080 Every few months they come out with new burners and the older ones that worked fine are phased out. So I feel this is a legitimate question. Im glad tbutterly ask it because I been wondering this for the last couple months now.

i've been using a samsung sh-183l for the past 2 years, and have ran about 350+ games and around 200+ movies through it with only around 15 failed burns, most of them being on the movie side due to software locking up and the occasional power outage.

however, i will NEVER go back to pioneer, i had the 111d and it only lasted around 6 months before it crapped out.

Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME

ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.
