Yellow Dog Linux 6.01 Help!

I have a 40gb ps3 with 2.60 firmware. I am trying to install YDL 6.01 but am having real difficulties. I downloaded the ISO from the University of Kent server (UK) at http://us.fixstars.com/support/downloads/

It downloaded fine and I burnt the iso using IMGBurn at a nice 2.4x. I installed the bootloader from the dvd then tried to install it. It does the usual babble then comes up with:

debug, Sending discover...
debug, Sending discover...
debug, Sending discover...
don't understand action "leasefail"
info, No lease, failing
kboot:

I press tab and choose the 'install_ps3_720p' option. it then comes up with:

attempt to access beyond end of device

and a lot of other text and then after returns to the kboot option. I have tried all the other options and none of them work.

What have I done wrong?? Someone please help me!

I would say try a different download and make sure to reformat the Linux partition (not the whole PS3 hard drive) when you are doing your installation again. Other than that hit up the Linux forums @ YDL or somewhere like http://www.yellowdog-board.com/viewtopic.php?t=2274

If I remember correctly when you are doing the install of YDL it gives you the option to do so somewhere along the steps.

I can't get that far though, I am trying to start the installer when it comes up with the error

I understand that, that is why I said to re-download using a different link of YDL 6.1 THEN try the install again but to not forget to format the Linux partition to remove any previous messed up installation so as to hopefully fix your problem.
