So I just got a wii but what I didn't realize is that all of my input slots are pretty much taken and I'd rather not disconnect anything or deal with trying to double up two devices to one slot, etc.

The only available input left is VGA, I'm wondering if there's any way to connect a wii via VGA? I found this cable at amazon, but it doesn't look quite right:

Maybe I'm just out of luck with this idea, but I figured if anyone would know, it's the folks at afterdawn. Rest assured, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Much obliged!

I also found this, but not sure it'll do trick either:

That first cable you found is not a VGA cable, its an RGB. So not what you're looking for.

The second one is VGA, but it uses RCA or component out for the audio. I'm not sure about your TV but most that I've seen use 3.5mm audio in to go with its VGA video in, and you already said that all your RCA and component slots are used. Typically they don't let you mix inputs anyway though so it wouldn't work even if you did have available ones. That cable will only work if you attach the audio outs to some kind of external speaker.

Ah, good point about the RCA input, hadn't thought that.

Ah well, the search continues...

Might be time to just unplug the thing I have hooked up via component cable and plug the wii in via component.

Of course then I'll need something to split HDMI, so I can replug in the thing I just unplugged (which also can be hooked up via HDMI).

Anyone know of a good HDMI splitter?

Well I think I solved my problem. I got a device that allows me to attach multiple devices using component cables and then switch between those cables, etc. It's not the prettiest solution but the device was cheap and it seems to work, so I guess I'm good.

Thanks for the input folks, I appreciate it.

That's what I was going to suggest. I have several switch boxes that I use and its a great solution. Go buy a cheapy label maker at Wal Mart and label your inputs properly on your switchbox and your all set.

The device I got seems to work well enough, the picture quality of both input devices seems more than okay. So I guess that solves this problem.

Onto the next one!

Thanks again folks...
