Help Stuck On Update Screen!!!

Hey So upon booting my 360 that allready has the HDD drive in, it trys to finish updating and fails and tells me to put in my hdd and it will restart. i have tried my hdd my 256 memory card and burning an update cd that i tested and works . Any body gotta fix? I need big help on this one . It also gives me the option to push B But then i can do anything i reput the hdd in it restarts and does it all over.

have you tried pushing b as soon as it starts? in hopes to get to the dashboard? you said you have downloaded the update cd? if so, why not just use that to install?

It won let me do anything after i push b or put in my HDD it says if your HDD is connected contact Microsoft support. And im stuck the cd wont load(This wont work because i cant even get to the dashboard) the perfectly good mem card wont and the perfectly working HDD wont do it ..... Am i SOL? is there a master reset or something? its looking ugly:(...... Actually YAHOO is my friend and the error is please insert HDD and the xbox will restart . I come here as LAST resort ! Please Believe .... Thanks Anyways. Genius P

call ms maybe they have a solution that doesnt require sending it to them.
try turning it on without any hdd or memcard in it and put in a game and play for a few mins then turn off and try with hdd or memcard.
one question...did u ever remove the hdd while the 360 was turned on??? cause i think that might cause something like this to happen maybe if it was in the middle of saving something. similar to turning it off when it is saving can cause corruption.

Naw im An ebay buyer and repair man . So im pretty sure he took out the HDD during the update process . But yea, I guess ill call MS. Boo Hoo. Weak Sauce ! Thanks Again

maybe if u put the hdd in a different 360 if it will et u acces it maybe u can format it from there and start over? or put a diff hdd into the console in question and see if it resets anything.

No no no, press and hold the sync button and the power button at the same time, it will wipe out that update and you can start again.

I Press and hold the sync button on the console and the power button and it only turns it on or off with no refreshing or starting over, its in the same state.

My xbox i think is doing the same thing!!! I went to go play mid night club las angels. And it said it needed to update the game. But then it said update failed. So i took the game out. and now it will not leave the update screen. I have took it all apart and put it back together and it still says the sam thing....... Please help....

taking it apart is not going to fix it magically. Have you tried putting the game back in and seeing what happens?

you have to put in the same game that it failed on and then turn off hold down sync button and turn on while still holding sync button. its a combination of what bhetrick said and mikeismad

the clear updates never worked for me and the one I had was used and had no idea what game update failed... anyway in another post some guy rented a brand new game and it fixed his, @OP did you fix yours?
