Hi All,

I am a little bit thick when it comes to HD so just asking for some help. I am very familiar with all the Starview boxes and think they are great. But i am now looking to go HD and was wondering what people think of the Eurovox EX7000 HD+ 1080i High Definition Cable Receiver. What are the good and bad points about it?
Thanks

And which HD channels do you expect you can receive via cable?
There is currently 1 HD channel (BBCHD) available at uk cable networks and none in ireland.

the box is pvr ready with a usb hd must be fat32 formatted, firmware is hard to come by at the moment but not impossible on a uk site digital kaos, dont know if the firware they have will work here, but i have used uk firmware before on my max-v and it worked here in dublin. I have searched everywhere on the net for more info about the ex7000 without much success, but as I took a chance to order one maybe you could let me know if you have any information to help me get it up and running ......cheers

i have a eurovox ex7000HD+ set up with the latest firmware and its ok, its scart output is best for picture quality at the moment. the hdmi output is connected to my tv also but pic quality is not what i would have liked even if the broadcasts are not hd yet, just hope things look up on that side. the menus are brief at best but they perform much faster than my original max v 2008, the pvr works fine on my external 250gb FAT 32 formated disc and (will not work on an NTFS formated disc)Renaming files on the pvr is a pain in the arse and the files are recorded in .trp format which I have not yet looked into converting to avi (if possible)
