Backup DVD's won't play on my Toshiba Portege!!!

I have succesfully made backup DVD movies with CopyX Platinum. The DVDs will play on my DVD home theatre player but they will NOT play on the dvd drive in my toshiba portege. I have used TDK blank DVD+R, Fry's blank DVDR, and even Apple's DVDR. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the problem?

One might think that my toshiba DVD drive just won't play burned DVD movies. However, strangly enough...two of the burned backup DVD movies I made do work on my toshiba DVD drive...the other six do not. I have racked my brain and I can not think of anything I did differently in the burning of those two DVDs.

Help please!!!
