yes, the backup launcher has region free built in, and it is enabled by default. Also run your isos through wii brick blocker, regardless of region.

No, DONT brickblock games from your wii's home region. Its not necessary to do so and makes some games not work.

You dont even *have* to brickblock games from different regions if you're using the backup launcher, since it will block all updates from a disk automatically. But its still good practice to do so just in case the backup launcher were to ever update and allow the updates for some reason.

Brickblocker is a program that you use on ISOs before burning them. As the name implies, it blocks updates from the disk to prevent bricking the wii, as can happen if you allow a game from a different region than your console to run an update.

Theres no problem with letting a game from your wii's home region run an update though. It wont cause any problems. If you only get games from your wii's home region you dont have to use the brickblocker.

As time goes on though, it seems to be causing more problems with breaking games. Theres no real list of games that you cant brickblock, but some people will have problems with some brickblocked games just not working.

Of course, its all moot since it applies only to modchip users. You're using the backup loader which automatically blocks updates from games. So you dont have to worry about it.
