PSP FAT... I could use a guide to replace the direction buttons and selection buttons flat flexable circuit boards. (conductive bus wires as they are called on dealextreme) not the black silicon rubber pieces that fit on the bottom of the keys, but the actual flex circuit boards. The 3 piece repair kit I'm using also contains the "Home" bar which I believe comes out pretty easy...

Is there a way to search for guides on here? I couldn't find any and I know there are guides as I have seen some for the PSP

Thanks

I've search the forums and I've seen the guides in the sticky's but none of them seem to be what I need... I guess I may need one that completely tears the fat psp apart.. I hate taking out the screen if I dont need to.

Any help would be appreciated

Try These

It is really quite easy to do, the power board requires you to remove the LCD housing which means removing the LCD.

OK, the one I want to replace is the d-pad one does that plug into power board? I thought the X, O [] etc button board plugged into power board. or is the power board the whole board... some have said you dont have to take lcd out but it looks like you would have to... comment?

On the same note, Ive tried to put CFW on it all day yesterday, just get the green light black screen... would any of the d-pad buttons not let the CFW to be put on... Im using a friends homemade real sony pandora bat. hes used before but even after making 9 different MMS using the guide on here and a copy of a stick I used before I just get the green light blank screen.. Ive done other psps and never had this problem... any suggestions? I probably should start a new thread but I,ve done so much reading I'm getting more confused... Is there a way to eliminate the problem ie bat, mms, psp itself??? other thn the 12 hr day I put in yesterday??

Thanks

1. No it is not connected to the power board (sorry, my mistake) but still connects to the motherboard, you still need to remove the LCD housing to get to the clamp that holds the DPad Board ribbon. Ironically it will take 2 secs to change the board, but 20 mins putting the LCD housing and LCD back.

2. Possibly, DC7 or 8 require DPAD left to activate, i would if you can open up the MS on your PC, check the config.txt file and see what its says. If it is there, change the config to LTRIGGER or something not DPAD. If it is not DC7 or 8 i would suggest re-making the MMS with dc8 and taking the steps i just detailed.

Thanks for the reply, very informative... I decided to wait until I get it fixed or get another one... It wouldnt do me any good to put the cfw on anyway except I probably might be able to play movies but not play game for sure, as I did try a UMD game and of course could not control properly!

Thanks again
