Can somebody help me set up from scratch my eurovox ex1000sl please, it just arrived today and i've done the power scan twice and found nothing. all cables correctly inserted, living in dublin, ireland

Have you flashed the box with the latest Firmware and do you know exactly who is your cable supplier, I presume that you do have a live feed.?

thanks for replying, i havent flashed it yet,can you point me in the right direction as to how, i'm not the techie type unfortunately. cable supplier is ntl(upc)

Here you go. just go to this thread and you will find out how to/what you need/setting up and scanning and even the Firmware for your box, courtesy of HiTeck >>>>>>>>>>

also the cable (9 pin) they gave me in the box wont fit my laptop (15 pin socket)so either way i'm gonna have to buy a new one before i start

You would be much better off getting a loan of an old type laptop or a friend/aquaintance who has a standalone PC with the correct 9 pin serial port, with OS - XP it will save you a lot of headache, and it will be done without a hitch. There can be a lot of hassle with the adaptors and Vista, not worth the hassle if you can avoid it then do so.

Hi,i have flashed the eurovox xl , and it keeps losing the code,ie,knocking it self off ,any ideas, i have flashed it a couple of times already with the proper firmware.thanks.
