Hi, I purchased a Talismoon Twilight Flow, Whisper Fan and the Aurora Lighting Kits for my Xbox 360. I see most people use a combination of the two, but not all 3. I read some ware that adding too much lighting can give me the 3 red rings? I also heard that using custom fans and lighting can get you banned from the Xbox live? I have the Xbox 360 with the falcon board and benQ drive, can anyone confirm any of this? Thanks for any help!

Too much lighting will require a lot of current, therefore I wouldn't recommend. And yes, you can get banned for custom mods, if you use the dvds 12v output to power your lights for example, microsoft can pickup on the variation in voltage, and once they are certain that some thirdy party mod is drawing the power, they will flag the console, so yes you can get banned. As for the combinations, im not sure, I only have the fans installed in my 360.

That's a complete myth. It's going to take a hell of a lot of extra power draw to throw a flag. My elite would have been banned about a year ago if the myth was true. All these products do draw from the fan power connector though. I haven't seen any proof that drawing power from this will get you banned. I have taken precautions in the past by adding a molex connector on some of my extremely modified xbox's. They say you can hook up ccfl's straight from the psu connection and still be undetected (if they did monitor power draw).

Just make sure when you hook up your extra components that you have the right connectors to do so. The fan will come with a 3 pin to 4 pin connector (elite/hdmi adaptor), the twilight flow will come with a molex style connector the and aurora kit will come with a odd 4 pin to 3 pin to molex i think (really i forget). You will probably need a Y splitter called an Energyzer Y cable.

It looks like this

Don't worry about the voltage myth, it's only for idiots who want to run alot of leds or ccfls from their fan power connector.

Seriously, who falls for this? While There's probably some kind of monitor for fan voltage since it is a speed controlled fan, the idea that MS sits and waits for someone to pimp out their 360 is just silly. If anything, they probably like it since it voids the warranty, meaning that if your 360 dies then they don't have to pay to fix it. Or, even better, it dies and you're afraid to send it in, so instead you go buy a new one! Sure, they try to stop softmods that can be used to break copyright laws and such, but fans and lights, no way.

Exactly if you look at the thousands that got banned with the release of cod5 and saints 2, how many of them said they got banned by doing a casemod/fan mod?

It's a myth, plain and simple.

Not Banned!

Not Banned!

38 3mm leds...Not Banned!

You tell me, do you think it's a myth?

of course its a myth. Mods aren't the only thrid party hardware that draws extra power from the 360. What about the nyko intercooling fan? Supposedly it causes the red ring for that exact reason. And anyways the talismoon whisper fan does not use extra power, it uses the same if not less power than the stock fan. Just don't be a little b**ch

yes, of course there is no certainty in whether you will get banned, like I said, drawing power from places such as the dvd drives power source decreases the amount of current flowing through the components of the drive, god knows if microsoft are monitoring fluctuations in current, however running leds/fans of the fans power source will obviously not draw much attention.

BTW: i said you can get banned, not will, its a possibility not a certainty, depends on what microsoft are doing, all physicists know that its easy to monitor sudden changes in current flowing through components.

Eh i'm sure they can't monitor the power that's being tapped directly from the psu connector. I doubt any bios can do that.

I soldered in a molex connector to run all those leds with just to be safe. But seriously i never heard of anyone getting banned for a 12v fan mod or anything of the sort. There was a report on xbox-scene a long time ago that said ms will ban you for the 12v fan mod and it just scared people.

Anyway i'm unsubscribing from this thread. The OP received an answer by the 3rd post.
