Hi, I am trying to run a Wii game and it comes up with a error message.
I think I have burnt it right. I use image burner like many people do. And have burnt on x2 speed
On a site (http://www.instructables.com/id/SUWVGG6FN4H8OJW/)
it says "The DVD Read Error is because the disc is not good, you need to be burning to medium to good quality DVD-R Discs. (Notice the DVD-R. NO DVD+Rs)"
And I think its the same with DVD-RW and DVD+RW, right?? (As I am using RWs to rewrite).
So if it is, then should I be using DVD-RW, because at the moment, I am using DVD+RWs and it doesn't work, do you think this could be the reason when I try and run a disk and it doesn't work?
Or do i use DVD+R and DVD-Rs?
Thanks

by the way. I installed Homebrew and all that using the Twilight hack. Do I still need a chip to run games? As i thought though that you can play them without a mod-chip, right?? Btw I haven't got a chip in my Wii. Only "softmodded" if thats what you call it.

Also, I have the app, Backup Launcher, and not the WiiGator. WiiGator runs downloaded/backup games right? And Backup Laucher does too? Is there a difference for them. Can I run my games using Backup Launcher or do I have to install the WiiGator first???

Hello,Probably no one answering as your title says "downloaded wii games"
No one really wants to know about that.
Don't use DVD-RW or +RW
You should be using DVD-R. Now each wii drive is picky. So some even use crap memorex media and have no problems.
I myself have used Sony DVD-R for over 30 game backups with no problems.
You can play backups by using the backup launcher through the homebrew channel or you can install the wiigator gamma bootloader as a channel and launch backups that way.
They are the same thing, as far as I know.
It explains in "larrylje" tutorial on how to Add Gamma Boot Loader as channel
