I have a psp slim with a custom firmware, model number 3.80 m33-5.
I have been able to run many transfer games in the past. But for some unknown problem, I have yet been able to run Kidousenshi Gundam Giren no Yabou Akushizu No Kyoui V on my psp..

This is what I get when I try to boot up the game, icon appears in memory card, but no background picture comes up, I press - start - game boots psp logo comes up. Few seconds later an in game picture appears, then my psp automatically shuts down on its own.

Could it be that it requires a newer firmware for new games ?

usually but not always the game will let you know when to update so its best you update to 5.00 m33-6 and see if it helps and make sure you press select at the xmb or desktop and press select and set the umd iso mode to M33 driver and come back with the results.

would It be possible to give me a simple walk through as to how I can update my firmware to 5.00 m33-5, and a link where I can download the named firmware ?
