hi, i bought a 360 that had rrod.. that was quite easy to fix and my son has been playing on it for a few days but just now it has stopped playing backups... all i get when a disc is put in is (open tray)

another thing that seems weird is when i tried to turn it off by the button i could still hear the fan going (think it was the fan) the button seemed to be turned off no lights, but yet the only way i could stop the fan was to switch it off at the wall... once i switched it back on then i could shut it down with the button... but same thing happens when i try to play backups...

anyone got any idea

dunno if this matters... but did use a hard drive from another xbox 360 for him to use???

Not to be a crab but how were you able to find information on repairing RROD and not on either (Adjusting 360 Laser POT) or firstly (Cleaning the rubber disc spindle and carefully wiping the laser eye)?

Anyways, start with what I gave you. LOL :-)

just checked today and it is now playing backups again... so don't know what's going on there... i'm going to get a good lens cleaner first... hope that will do the trick if not i'll try the rest

if your going to get a lens cleaner that costs over 15 dollars u might as well buy a new laser
