Hello to all who read an reply to this thread. I have a question that I HOPE has not been answered in to forums as of yet (didn't have enough time to read through ALL of them). I have recently flashed 2 friend of mines drives using Ixtreme 1.5, as well as upgrading my own drive (previous firmware unknown, was done by someone else). Here is my problem. I have a copy of a game that loads and plays on MY system with no problem, but when I load the SAME media onto the other 2, I get Unplayable Disc on one system and "dirty Disc" error on the other. Note, I am not using Verbatim and haven't tried it as of yet (mine works fine using Memorex- go figure) but all three drives are TS-H943. Anyone have any ideas as to what I might be going on?
have you only tested it with one game? if you try it with another game and they dont load, it could be a bad flash, or it could just be that the lasers in those are getting weak. try cleaning the laser, if that doesnt work try this guide to make the laser stronger
Try flashing it at 8x instead of 12x, I remember fixing a 360 for a guy at work by doing this.. He no longer got the unplayable disc error after I did this. Maybe Mike and some of the other 360 flashing pros can comment on this, I'm leaning towards what mike said about your laser though.. Sounds like it's starting to die..
Thanks for the suggestions. How do you change the flash speed (yeah, I'm a noob) I am using Iprep and I see where it says 12x, but don't know how to change it to 8x. Before I go through all of the trouble of trying to adjust the laser, I'll tell them to buy a replacement drive, not worth all the effort when a 30 dollar replacement might do the trick.
