Okay Guys as you can tell Im a noob to Nintendo wii
don't really know much about it and all
I was just wondering if Its safe to install the latest update on your wii , or will it get bricked?

I'm a noob myself so you might want to wait for a more expert opinion, but from what I've learned the last couple of days its perfectly safe to update, so long as you're making sure you're getting the update for the correct region. If you download it online, you'll always get the right one. Also I'm told the backup loaders skip the updates that come on games, so if you have a PAL Wii and a NTSC game that wants to update, it shouldn't bother you to update with the backup loader.

An update might however mess up your Homebrew Channel. Not Brick your Wii though, just mess it up causing you to have to fix that. I think, and again I'm no expert, the only time you're in danger of bricking your Wii is if you play backups with a modchip and you accidentally allow a game from a different region to do an update. Softmod's are generally safe from bricking.
