I've been told generally that Verbatim is good, but I have 100 or so Maxell's that have the ID CMCMAGAM3. I'm obviously going to try these first since I have many at my disposal, but in the event I need something else is there a list of media ID's that are good? Brand name isn't always an accurate measure of quality.

Disc manufactured by CMC Magnetics have a pretty sorry reputation around here.

Everyone has their favorites.

Some people swear by no-name disk.

If you were to gather all of the threads regarding this subject I would hazard a guess to say that Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden Premium DVD-R have the highest success rate.

I had to order some other things from NewEgg so while I was at it I bought some new media.



TAIYO YUDEN 4.7GB 8X DVD-R Inkjet Printable 100 Packs Disc - Retail

and

Verbatim 8.5GB 2.4X~6X DVD+R DL 3 Packs Disc - Retail

How many games are burned using DL discs? I didn't buy many because the only game I have downloading right now that burns well on DL is Smash Bros
