hi
my liteon drive is making weird noises when i put a disc in.
it sounds like the laser is naffed as the disc keeps spinning up and stopping suddenly with a loud clanking noise.
my question is are the lasers the same on the liteon as opposed to the hitachi/samsung drives.

no, they arent the same. if you want to get a new laser, you have to get one made for your drive.

do you have any idea where i can get one in the uk i don't realy want to buy a new drive.
i thought liteons where supposed to be the best drives this has lasted a year i have another 360 which is 3 years old with a hitachi in it and it hasn't missed a beat.
