I have Wii (USA) running 3.3u with Wii Key and accidentally I said yes to upgrade while using Wii Music PAL. I was suppose to say no and ran blick blocker to remove that update but as always mistakes happen.

I would appreciate if experts can guide me to fix this. I do not have home brew channels installed and also never connected my Wii wireless with my router either.

Thanks a Lot.

I dont have wii music so I cant confirm this, but I'm pretty sure that the game only contains firmware 3.3. Which would mean that the console isnt semi-bricked, you just have duplicate news and weather channels.

Can you access the wii settings menu? If you can then the console isnt semi bricked. You can install the homebrew channel and use the duplicate channel remover to get rid of the PAL news and weather channels.

If you cant access the wii settings then that means that the console was updated to 3.4E and you're stuck. Unfortunately there's no way to install the homebrew channel on a semi-bricked 3.4 wii and so no way to fix it until a game with a new firmware is released (3.5 or 4.0)

What it really boils down to is what firmware you're semi-bricked with. If it was the second 3.3e firmware version then you need a game with 3.4u to unbrick.

I dont know of any US games with 3.4 yet. I've heard of a couple with 3.4j but those games haven't been released in the US yet.

If you're bricked with 3.4e (which shouldnt be the case since, as I said, I havent heard of any games with 3.4 outside japan yet) then you're stuck until the next firmware is released.

With either 3.3 or 3.4 though, there is unfortunately no solution to fixing it without the homebrew channel. You can continue playing your games just fine in the meantime, though none of the online functions will work.

I was told that there is a way to install HBC without internet connection so if I get success installing HBC than is there any solution to fix this without having internet connection. Please advise thanks

Sure, its compleatly fine installing homebrew channel without the wii being online. Thats no problem at all.

But installing it without being able to access the settings menu, now THATS a trick. On any firmware after 3.2 its impossible, since without the system menu you cant use the twilight hack and thats the only way to do a HBC install on a 3.3 or 3.4 wii. Sorry.

And there are two 3.3 updates. Wii music seems to contain the second one, so you should be ok once you can find a US game with 3.4u on it.

installing homebrew channel without the internet only works with a modchip installed in your wii. Because it allows backups to work. There are homebrew channels.iso files which you can burn and install like this.

As for this case , penguins correct there are no games that have the 3.4 update. You are going to have to either wait out the storm until nintendo releases a new patch or get a mod chip to fix this issue.

... Seriously?

I've installed the homebrew channel on several unmodded wii's without internet access using the twilight hack.

And if you read... or thought about the problem... you'd know that he does have a modchip. Its pretty hard to semi-brick the console without one. Still though, the modchip wont help him unbrick it since he cant run a semi-brick-fix disk on firmware 3.3. The fix disks only worked on 3.2 and earlier.
