my sv clone was working fine last night but when i came home 2day it has totally stopped working. it does not seem 2 b getting any power at all. changed the fuse on the plug but its still the same. is there an internal fuse that i cant see?? opened it up 2 have a look but cant find 1. i have not downloaded firmware onto it 4 about a year and a half so i dont think its that. any ideas? thanks

correct m8, nothing comes up on display at all, as if its turned off. could u give me the order number 4 the c 11 and i will try it. is it just a case of burning the old 1 out with the soler iron then replacing it with the new 1 and hoping 4 the best? cheers 4 quick reply btw.

The Maplin's part number is VH50E its a 16V 1000uf electrolytic capacitor costs about 50p. Any problems just shout ;)

cheers m8, your some man. so is it just a case of changing the c11? i was looking through the forum and it said something about changing the c21 b4 u change the c11? does that sound right? i no its a bit early 2 b thinking about this but is it possible i need 2 jtag or would something come up on the display window?

Did you get the polarity the right way round when you fitted the cap?

Also look at this picture, see if its any help,




Are you able to check the outputs from the PSU with a multimeter?.

First of all as said make sure you have put the cap the right way round, you will see a line on the cap, you line that up with the circle on the board.

To test the PSU,
The ribbon that comes from the PSU unplug it from the main board (it wont unplug from the PSU)

On the PSU you will see,

3V
2V
23V
7V
GND
GND

At the plug end of the PSU put the black wire pin of the Multimeter on either one of the GND (ground) then touch the red wired pin on each terminal and make sure each one corresponds with the voltage shown on the board. Dont blow yourself up!!!!!, if your not confident take it to an electrical repair shop to check it for you.

lol. i take it that its supposed 2 b plugged in when i do this?

Set on AC (V~) 25V or above.

there is power going through the multimeter on all the contacts but its not what its supposed 2 b, would it b worth me buying a new psu board from fleabay?? cheers again 4 help btw

ive set the mm to 20 v as this is the only 1 thats staedy. first 1 is 0.30. second 1 is 1.01. third 1 is 5.23. fourth 1 is 0.15.
