so three days ago my 360 working fine no noticeable problems.

two days ago my 360 was little sluggish. i started fallout 3 and it was skipping a bit not to bad and only for first 5 mins of the game. thought disk may been little dirty. didnt think much of it since it only lasted for 5 mins.

but then yesterday i was playing last remnant and in middle of battle it gave me disk read error. thought it was a bad burn thought i would try it again in a little while.

then today i try it again and wont even load game. doesn't give me disk read error anymore just try's to read it then 360 say to open tray. im thinking its a bad burn but i try fallout 3, same thing. then i try ever game i have and all of them do it. ones that i know are good burns one that worked with no problems at all. so im pretty sure its my 360.

I took it apart and cleaned inside, was pretty dusty. took apart dvd drive, that too was dusty. cleaned the laser and other things around as i seen some ppl online say helped. put it all back together and still wont read any games.

has no problems with cds, or movies. so wondering if anyone can help me out here and what to do next?

its a samsung drive

It sounds like a laser issue. Replace the laser, they are fairly cheap. Make sure you use verbatium media as well. Its more healthy for the lifespan of your drive when you use quality media, which verbatium leads in.

Its not very hard. Analyze the way the laser gets assembled into the drive. Use some common sense and your brain. Its like putting together legos. You should be able to do it on your own. There are a few different lasers. I've noticed that the benq's and the samsungs are different. Just look at your drives laser and compare it with the picture on ebay, or find out what type of drive you have and search for a laser that fits in that type of drive.

uhhh, why are you going to try and belittle him once i already gave him the link? no point in criticising him for not knowing. point him in the right direction and when he comes back do it again. if he asked how to flash the drive, then it would be a different story as there are countless threads answering that.

Mike gave you the laser link, and here's a link to a good tut for replacing the laser.
