Ahh... it never ends.

No, you don't need the connectivity kit. Google "lite on key for free" and it'll give you a link to Xbox Scene about making your own cable.

ive had a look at the xbox scene page.does this not constitute a connectivity kit?
and might i add that looks like a one way ticket to frying your pc and xbox drive one one swoop.
why dont you tell him to stand in a bucket of water and put on a pair of tinfoil gloves while he´s doing it while your at it....

A connectivity kit costs about 25 euros and it is a hell of a lot safer.its up to you but i would advise getting a connectivity kit
go to team xecuter´s web site for more info + there´s a tut on there aswell for the soldering method.

IT MOST CERTANLY NEVER ENDS!!!

And, before ck3, people were extracting their Lite On drive info how? Yeah, that's right, they were making their own cable.

The op obviously already knows the ck3 is available, but it's not "necessary" as you say. He's already stated that he has experience soldering. I've done a ton of PS2 modchips myself and if someone can solder those, they more than likely can solder a simple cable.

Just because you can't do something, don't assume that no one else can. Give the op ALL the facts and let him decide.

on the fail scale of 1-10 you sir, get a 9.4

ive made my own cable 3 times and not a single one of them has fried an xbox or pc. so if you have never tried it dont say it wont work.
