I softmodded my Wii earlier this week and I bumped into my first couple of problems. I was playing Super Mario Galaxy and 20 minutes or so into playing it told me to "Please insert Super Mario Galaxy etc..." as if I had taken the disc out of the drive. Then I burned Super Smash Bros and it worked for a good amount of time without issue then I got the same thing.

I've heard of people saying sometimes their backups freeze. Does this count as a freeze or is this a different problem entirely? Also, can this problem be caused by bad media? My Super Mario Galaxy disc was burned using cheap Maxell at 2.4X, the Super Smash Bros was on good media though, Verbatim DVD+R DL with the Layer Break set to that specified number.

I have a large amount of Taiyo Yuden's now and I'll reburn Mario Galaxy on that and see if I get the error, but generally what is the cause of that error message to limit it in the future?

i would say it could be the media. Those taiyo yuden's would do the trick if it was that ... i guess let us know your results
