Thanks Creaky!....

@OP... is your key all FFFFFFF, or listed as invalid key? Read the flash three times consecutively and see if the reported key is identical each time. If you are using a "compatible chipset" and the key is different each time then I suggest checking your connections at the dvd drive and sata port on your pc,(if you review the published "SATA" standard or even wiki it, you find the connector used on internal connections such as our xbox consoles is only good for a small amount of connect and disconnect operations before being considered unusable, the eSATA connector was a second revision that was adapted to eliminate the vulnerability of the original SATA connector) if all is good and undamaged then use a short (1 meter) sata cable routed away from other electronics. Although extremely rare, some extra long sata cables with poor shielding will pick up noise (RFI) and skew the data transferred, such as your dvd key. It may even be possible to induce "noise" by placing your drive on top of an ac to dc power supply such as the one that is commonly used to power a ck3 or xtractor. Again, this is rare but possible. Goodluck!

sorry it took so long to get back ... I am using an onboard GigaRAID ATA 133 RAID controller .. the motherboard has 4 built in.
also when I try to flash (after it reads all 4 banks) it displays no drive key ... if I use jungleflasher and try to "spoof" the bin file ( I thinks thats what it is doing ) it displays it as all 7's and I'm not sure if that is even a proper drive key
