Corrupted Gamer Profile and Game Saves

Hey guys,need alittle help or advice. I have 2 xboxes one is modded with the latest iXtreme 1.5 and the regular is unmodded. Well I took my HD out of the unmodded xbox and placed in my modded xbox and played a few games and got a few achievements and stuff.(my modded xbox is not connected to xbox live and I don't want to connect it.) So I take my HD out of the modded xbox and placed it back in the unmodded xbox and now my gamer profile is corrupt and so are a few game saves that I played on my modded xbox. So I recovered my gamertag and deleted the game saves so everything is ok for now. But my question is this,if I go to play my modded xbox offline,should I put my profile on a memory unit and play the game so i can still get the achievements or what is the best way not to get a corrupted gamertag and game saves with the method I'm trying to do?(switching HD back and forth between both xboxes)

Same thing happened to me but my modded box is on live. I recovered my tag and have swapped the hdd back forth several times since without a problem. I curious to know if this is purely coincidence or if there are significant factors that will recreate this symptom.

don't know really,i had heard that you could still use your hd between 2 xboxes and just use a memory unit for your profile. I wonder if that would work?
