Rgb Red dvd player socket problems

Anyone able to answer this?
On the back of my dvd player, the red socket of the rgb is not reading the red signal, so only blue and green filters are being used when I use rgb cables. It is not the cables as they work on other dvd players. Do I need a technician to repair the dvd player or is there a simple solution?
