So, finally got a chance to dig in here with my secondary xbox, and it's definitely going to be tricky. The back of the system says it was manufactured in April of '06, so it's an older unit... But the DVD drive is a Liteon made in August '08, and the warranty seal wasn't (And still isn't, I used the blow dryer trick) broken.

So I've got a liteon D16D2S drive.... Which, yes, I know, is kind of a b@st@rd to work with.

I've got an old connectivity kit from Team Xecutor, and I do mean old, it was the first revision of the kit they sold, including th HD adaptor v1.3(to give you an idea of how old this is).

I'm looking around a few places for tutorials, and having no luck applying them to my unit.

First I tried using iPrep 101(both v006 and v008), and then Dosflash32(1.7). I can't seem to get the drive to show up.

The xecutor connectivity kit has a blue power indicator, the eject button is in the 'up' position, as it needs to be, and the debug indicator is red, which, as far as I know, is what is supposed to be going on. However, Dosflash32 will only see my connected HP DVD Writer drive, and not this one. In iPrep, I'm not sure which of these options is the right choice. I'm including screencaptures below, which will hopefully make the situation clearer, so that someone can better assist.

Thanks in advance!

if you dont have the probe, i dont think you will get the key, but that doesnt explain why your drive isnt showing up. you did try turning the xbox and computer off and then turning the xbox on after the computer was just turned on right? also try plugging the xbox drive up into another sata port. one port on my motherboard doesnt work for flashing but the slave port does.

Okay, because I'm using the connectivity kit v1, which provides power on it's own to the drive, there isn't a need for the 360 to be plugged in or on, the drive is entirely disconnected from the 360, both for data and power.

I'll try another sata port in the meantime, that's definitely worth a shot.

I'm basically confused because the computer will try to recognize the drive when I boot up, which is fine, but I tell it not to(I don't think you're supposed to let it look for drivers for the drive, unless I'm mistaken?) but neither software pieces will see it. Blegh.
