Sata connector on Elite BenQ drive?!?!

Trying to flash my elite 360 but it seems that the sata connector isn't just simply plugged into the drive. It won't budge and i don't want to break it off in there but it seems like it has a a locking mechanism to it....some sort of side clips i think.

Anyone else come across this and can advise a course of action or point me to a video tut showing how to get this thing off so i can connect to my pc?

I don't think I have ever came across the end of sata cable(inside a xbox) that had clips to keep it locked in. I think it is just a tight fit. I know they are hard to get off sometimes but I don't think MS is making sata cables with clips on them.

Well i think they are doing just that, at least in the elite drives. Ran across a seemingly similar incident here:

I notice that guy posted in Oct. and i believe i ordered my 360 in either Nov or Dec of last year.

microsoft is not putting anything on the drive to make it harder to get the sata cable out. lift the drive out of the case and pull straight back. you WILL not break the sata connector off it the case is of the drive is still on. you would have to break the case of the drive to get the connector to come off. wiggle it up and down in small ammounts and it will come off.

i flashed a benq last night was a refurb fresh from the repair center and i noticed it seemed harder to get the sats plug off the drive than the usualy samsungs i am used to. i just wedged a screw driver inbewteen the plug and lower part of the dvd drives case and popped it off VERY CAREFULLY lol i went slow and applied pressure really carefull untill one side was out a little and then the other popped off easy.
