Princeton defines the mythical city of Atlantis as "according to legend, an island in the Atlantic Ocean that Plato said was swallowed by an earthquake."
The Internet flared with rumors this weekend however that the fabled city had been found using the updated version of the satellite mapping software Google Earth.

I don't know what the thing is. Scan lines seems improbable. If it is real then it would not be streets, but walls and buildings.
A wall the size of Wales? Why not? The Great wall would put this thing to shame.
I wonder just how long it will take Google to remove the image.

Why does everyone jump at each others throats? Times were never as bad as this generation of inbred self centered idiots. Listen to yourselves. Someone says something, anything at all and some f***** moron has to start calling names and trying to discredit someone when they don't really know anything. How about we start taking things seriously, truly analyze the situation, give real thoughts and opinions and figure it out instead of reverting to extremely childish tactics of name calling and random blurting out of stupid shit! This is how these people in power are able to tell us anything they want. They understand how stupid name calling is and how stupid we are for doing it. All it does is put people into an uproar, F*CKING GROW UP!
Its obviously not an artifact of the information gathering process. THEY WOULD BE ALL OVER THE OCEAN LIKE I SAID BEFORE. If you can disprove me then do it by all means please, I am out for the truth and if you can come up with a truly good explanation to it I would love to hear it... but if you are just going to talk about Uranus, inverted nipples, and calling people retards then just shut the f*ck up and grow up.

and "1Samurai1" you go !!! I agree 100%
yes I did resort to name calling to but only after It was done first and no she didn't say me per say but seemed to be calling everbody retard's and I did try to go the peaceful route at first
but was then called retard out right so I figured if that was the way she rolled I could roll that way to then maybe she would understand........with some you have to fight fire with fire

Feeling a little guilty 1Samurai1. Anyone who believes this actually was Atlantis is probably short a few cards. Suckers are born every minute.

Some people prefer to have an open mind about such things. There is no evidence that it is or is not Atlantis or some other ancient city or even what it is at all.
There is only the idea that it must be man made, (due to the right angles) and an extreme curiosity about it.
Close your mind if you wish, but please... don't try to close others minds.
Oh, Im sorry... Did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours?

after all thoughts are just that "thoughts till proven one way or anouther

varnull, what would the world do without retards! It would be far less amusing.
I am of the island in Greece camp. Historically that fits the best. Just before the Exodus, there were massive amounts of seismic activity in the Middle East. There is an island that had a diked city. The waters of the Mediterranean Sea rose many feet in the last few millennia BC. The fall of the walls of Jericho may have been seismic. Some believe now most of the cities were flattened in Israel had been flattened. When the Jews arrived they were eager for a better religion. The Jews were probably very few in number. The Jews out Egypt were Persian but even by David's time they were Semitic. I just had to throw that wacky theory into this wacky discussion. I fits here.
It is most unlikely that any city from the West would be located in the Atlantic. They didn't have ocean going ships back then they had enough trouble with the Mediterranean Sea. The Allantic Ocean make the sea look like a pond. The Azores would have been populated if there was actually traffic out there.
Oh and let me see, there are no buildings only streets. On land the streets are the first to dissapear. It doesn't take much sediment to hide a road. Or are these roads magic?

was it good??
and I kave spent a couple day's looking on new google earth for places like this else where in the world ...........I can't find any
so maybe this isn't atlantis.....but it's some thing and not just sonar trace lines
that area of the Ocean is fill of sezmic activity and volcanic activity so could be this was caused by these factors
but that doesn't explain the 90 degree angles
unless like that place off the coast of japan it just happened
nature is weird and we as a race are far from knowing all it's secerts

Care should be taken though. I hear the gases are lethal.
LMAO :D
Classic gentlemen haha.
But seriously, Atlantis was invented by Plato .... sheesh!
There was no original civilisation that taught us all how read, write and farm ... jesus that's been well researched.
Yeah, and geological activity can produce 90 degree angles.
Its a lot easier being righteous than right.

Geological activity may make 90 degree angles, but that many 90 degree angles in one place? That's not geological activity.
