Hello.
Just brought home my brand new xbox 360 arcade unit from BIG W in Australia and decided to pop off the face plate. Well WTF? Its got a refurb sticker. Looks like this.

Is this now the standard sticker on new units or have I indeed been sold a refurbished unit as brand new?

new style warranty sticker.... it would make sense that MS is replacing the old style across the board or it would be pointless for them to even do it

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

Okay. Cool thanks. Apparently its even easier to remove it with out damaging it. You just open the case very very carefully from the back and it peels off with the case. Cool but be careful I hear!

i just use a razor blade, but this time you dont even have to heat the sticker, just go slowly.

yep i used no heat and a razor blade, just lifted the lower right corner and the rest of it comes off with the top half of the case. what the hell were they thinking??? this would be harder to remove...i doubt it. Im willing to bet they did this to make it harder to counterfit the stickers. the others were only silver with MicroSoft on them but these new ones have holographic parts and a thread/band in them.

im wonderiing if they are heat sensitive paper at all that would change color if heated too much?

Just used a bit of heat from a hair dryer and wax paper from a sheet of stickers instead of a razor. Worked awesome. Instead now I found out its a freaking lite-on. I went to the shop yesterday and got one. I know it was a ben-q because of the batch no. but i had to take it back. One of the fans was jammed the very first moment I turned it on. CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK was the sound coming from the back. This was a brand new machine. Thought I'd best return and swap then open it. Had a silver sticker. Get this one with a user friendly paper sticker but now its a lite on. Looks like I'll have to spend more money on a freaking spear and connectivity kit. I should start a home ran business flashing xbox's after all this fuss to recoup costs.
