Max V is dead

My Max V is stuck on channel 266. It does not respond when pressing the buttons on the box nor on the remote. I've tried resetting it but to no avail and I have also tried re-flashing it but I can't as it does not detect my Max V nor can I put the box on standby. I'm guessing I have to jtag it. I have never heard of this before and was wondering what it is and if there was a guide for this. Thanks.
