I have a psp phat v 5.02
can i install custom firmware in order to use gpsp to play game boy advance games?

You will need two things:
1. A service mode battery (Modified psp battery that boots the psp from a memory stick.)
2. A magic memory stick (Special memory stick with code that modifies the firmware in the psp.)

The battery can be soft modded, hard modded, or bought but it is the hardest part to get. After you get that you need the magic memory stick.

Software you need to make it>> Rain's UltraLite MMS Maker(4.01)
The update you need for it to work>> 4.01 update

Using that program its all pretty straightforward just select the update file and press make MMS.

If you need a service mode battery go to google and search "datel battery service tool" or "datel tool battery".
