Different firmware that does or doesn't allow you to go online ?

i'm after a bit of advice,, i've just got myself a second hand '360 that's already been flashed. the lad i got it from said not to go online with it unless i use original games, a it will result in the xbox been blocked.. i've also heard that it's safe to go online as long as the games are stealth'd. is there different firmware for the flash that does or doesn't allow you to go online with the xbox? if so how do you check which firmware you have? or is it a case of all firmware is the same and will allow you online a long as the game is steath'd.
also i'm i using xdvdmulleter correctly, i'm loading the iso via the dvd player and selecting next the next creen give me the xbox iso details.. on this page everything is ticked,, does this mean that the dic is stealth protected??
sorry for all the questions just want to be sure!!!

first off, just read a bunch of the newbie threads which give a lot of the basic info about hacked firmware.
Second, see if you can ask the guy which version of the firmware is on the console. If it's not 1.5, then you have an old version. I can flash your console, I have done many, but so have a number of other members on this site.
Also look into abgx for making sure games are stealth.

already asked the lad and he does't know which firmware is on the console. so even tho the game passes stealth check if my firmware is below 1.5 than there's a high chance if i go online i will get my xbox blocked? also been reading that when i play a copied game offline then go online with an original, microsoft can still see that i've been playing the game offline? is this true?

it's believed or assumed that the console keeps a log of the games you play offline ... so yes that part is true...
as far as the version installed i dunno any way to check without opening the whole thing up and hooking the drive up etc etc...

if your not able to flash the drive yourself with the newest firmwars
i think i would try playing a game in it that is not ixtreme compatible, if it plays its ixtreme if not its just xtreme.
that would give you that much info.
I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

listen its probably best for you to just upgrade the xbox to ixtreme 1.5... thats the only way to be the "safest" but of course there is still risk of getting caught no matter what firmware...
there are many tutorials on how to flash the drive with 1.5 or there are people willing to do it for you for $$$$$$
start researching or hire someone it will ease your fears a bit
