Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7220A 22x DVD±RW DL IDE Drive .

Im looking at a new computer and this is the drive thats in it.

I personally just use any dual layer burner, and they all work fine for me.

thanks for the answer im kinda a noob at this and have heard that some drives only work and that all do. Im sure ill have more questions when i get set up on flashing ect.

You're probably confusing burning with ripping. Only a select few drives can RIP a retail game, while nearly all (I would say all, but I'm sure there's one obscure burner out there that doesn't) DL Burners can burn games.

If you want to rip games you'll need to pick up a Kreon drive, if you're only interested in burning them then you're all set.
