I am looking at lower priced digiboxes, and would like to be able to record as well (pvr).

One possible solution is the Starv1ew 4, £110 + p&p, which has a USB connection which can be connected to a USB Hard Disk Drive (HDD). This has the added attraction of being updatable via a usb key. I already have have a USB HDD. Another downside here is that the HDD is external, i.e. an additional device, another cable, more clutter etc.
Q1: Does anyone know if there is a HDD capacity limit on the size of USB HDD you can attach to this box?
Q2: Is the video stored as a proprietary digital video stream, or is it stored in a standard format such as AVI, MPEG4 etc that can be viewed on my PC?

Another possibility is a digibox with a built in HDD, e.g. Eur0v0x Max EX51OO PVR for £110 + P&P. It takes a IDE Laptop Hard Drive (easily removable) between 80gb/120gb giving 40/60 hours worth of recording. [text from site]
Q3: Is 120GB the max HDD that can be put in this box?
Q4: What format is the video stored in?

Are there other considerations? Given that they are the same money, is there a clear winner or is there a better alternative for a cheap PVR.
